White Rock Trapping Volunteers Required

Updated: Nov 1, 2021

The Aorangi Restoration Trust are looking for volunteers to service 89 traps once a month from the middle of September 2021 to the 14 February 2022.

This is a great opportunity to visit a remote and rarely seen part of the Wairarapa east coast by being involved in the trapping programme to protect the NZ Banded Dotterel.

Accommodation is available at the White Rock Shearers quarters right on the coast. The trap lines follow both sides of the Opouawe River for 5-6km from the coast up to the confluence of the Poley Stream.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Joe Hansen on 027 692 6465.
